Law as a rule or social norm is inseparable from the values that apply in a society, that it can be said that the law is a reflection and concretization of the values that will one day apply in society. The relationship between law and politics is the fact that the two cannot be separated, both in their formation and implementation. Through a political perspective, law is seen as a product or output of the political process or the result of public policy considerations and formulation. During the colonial period of the Netherlands and Japan, this legal politics was often used as a propaganda tool by the colonialists to influence the Indonesian population. Law is often a reflection of the will of the colonialists both during the Dutch colonial period and during the Japanese colonial period.
